The Dark Three

I have demons. Faceless creatures that nestle in thoughts, memories, regrets. Sometimes they whisper words that only I can hear, other times they scream so loudly they drown out every other voice.

The inspiration comes from the myth of the Erinyes, goddesses of vengeance and retributive justice: their very existence is a symbol of guilt and torment, a concrete manifestation of that sense of persecution that is often invisible to others’ eyes, but all too real for those who live it.

Only those who are prey to remorse can see them, hear their footsteps, endure their fury. It is a concept that is incredibly visual and psychological at the same time.

Only by confronting our ghosts can we learn to live with them. We can even transform them into something new.

Some torments we carry with us always, born from wounds never healed. Others manifest suddenly, when we least expect it. Everyone fights their own battle, even if the scars are not always visible.

My perspective is original: the Erinyes are no longer invisible, but perfectly visible to all. They do not hide in the shadows of the mind, they are not just an inner anguish. They are there, tangible, relentless witnesses of guilt, inevitable presences that no one can ignore.

This project seeks to give form to what often remains hidden, to manifest a torment that, deep down, in some way, belongs to each of us.

They come in silence, carrying what no one wants to name.
