Vanish

Worldwide, disappearances involve a considerable number of people. In Europe, according to the latest data, around 300,000 cases of missing persons are reported each year, about half of whom are minors.

My inspiration comes from a documentary that deeply shook me and pushed me to investigate this issue more thoroughly.

Faced with the numbers and the stories uncovered, it is impossible to remain indifferent.

Confronted with such a dramatic reality, we cannot turn away.

The available data highlight the complexity and seriousness of the phenomenon, which extends across all geographic areas and shows a worrying incidence of minors among the cases recorded. These are children. Brothers and sisters. Friends.

It’s not a subject people talk about every day, and that’s precisely why I offer an original perspective: gentle images, behind whose delicacy lies a terrible theme.

To disappear like this, overnight, is unimaginable and shocking. The most unsettling fact is that it really happens, and it could happen to anyone, to each one of us.

They are thoughts, emotions, steps, stories.
A tomorrow fading into nothingness.
