My Artistic Vision

The meaning of my works originates from the personal experiences of the subjects I portray. Their stories guide my creative process, giving life to pieces that reflect their uniqueness.

I feel a strong desire to understand the deeper reasons behind our being and actions; each exploration offers me new perspectives and enhances my understanding of human nature.

My artistic approach is unique because it explores human complexity with empathy and without judgment, through an evocative and elegant style. Characterized by the striking color blue, my work invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the emotional and universal nuances of the human experience.

Human beings fascinate me the most in the world, and they define my work.

The medium I choose is not just a technical tool but an integral part of the emotional narrative: cyanotype allows me to express the psychological nuances of my subjects in an intimate and personal way.

The ultimate meaning of my work is to highlight the peculiarities and contradictions that make us all human.

Aesthetics play a central role in most of my works, maintaining a strong connection with the meaning that animates them.

Technique is also important, but it always leaves room for inner reflection.

Sara Campi stands out primarily for her cyanotype portraits, which narrate stories, emotions, intimacy, and contradictions of the human condition.

Using cyanotype and alternative photography, she explores the complexity of human experience, revealing unconscious and primal nuances that define the uniqueness of the individual, while seeking to uncover the invisible bonds that unite all human beings.

She draws inspiration from John William Herschel, a pioneer of photography and scientist, for his brilliance, deep knowledge, and dedication. Anna Atkins and Yves Klein are also sources of inspiration: the former for her courage, and the latter for his innovative use of the blue color in his nudes, a symbol of transcendence and emotional depth that enriches her visual research.
